Hourly Care: What Is It All About?
Not every senior or adult needing care requires around-the-clock assistance—and that’s where hourly care comes in. At CareDiem® Home Care, we provide non-medical caregiving services charged on an hourly basis, offering support where and when it’s needed most. This flexible model allows individuals to maintain their independence and stay in the comfort of their own homes while still receiving essential support for daily activities.
Whether you’re a family caregiver needing a short break or someone seeking occasional help, hourly care also serves as a form of respite care in Palatine, Illinois. It’s a practical solution for loved ones who could use time to rest, recharge, or manage personal obligations while knowing their family member is in good hands.
Hourly care is ideal for older adults or individuals recovering from surgery, managing chronic conditions, or simply needing companionship or help with daily living tasks. Whether you need care for just a few hours a day or more extended support throughout the week, we tailor our services to your schedule—you choose the time, and we’ll be there.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
What is the minimum number of hours I can schedule for hourly care?
Most agencies have a minimum hourly requirement—typically around 2 to 4 hours per visit—to ensure quality and consistency of care.
Is hourly care suitable for someone with Alzheimer’s or dementia?
Yes. Hourly care can be tailored for individuals with cognitive conditions by providing routine supervision and memory-friendly support in familiar surroundings.
How does hourly care differ from live-in care or 24-hour care?
Hourly care is scheduled for specific blocks of time and is best for clients who don’t need overnight assistance. Live-in or 24-hour care is continuous and includes sleeping hours.
Can I request the same caregiver every visit?
Many providers strive for continuity, but it depends on caregiver availability and scheduling. Consistency is always a goal to build trust and familiarity.
Is this service covered by insurance or Medicare?
Most hourly non-medical care is private pay. However, some long-term care insurance policies may reimburse these services. Medicare typically doesn’t cover non-medical care.
